Manc is Grime. Remember the T-shirts? Mayhem remain to be one of, if not the hardest grime teams in Manchester. In terms of dedication to the game, consistency and quality of output. Like most teenagers from Mcr and the surrounding areas I’ve quoted many a bar from the boss man Shifty, Slay, Remdog and Shifty’s little cousin Blizzard.
These days Blizzard isn’t so little, he’s shed the baby weight and is well established in his own right with his hard punchlines, witty bars and outrageous flow whether it be Hip hop or grime. No longer in the shadow of his elders or considered to be ‘sick for a kid’ he’s often referred to as the best in Manchester. Although his fan base isn’t restricted to an M postcode thanks to his online presence and plenty of freestyle videos he’s managed to secure two warm-up sessions for SBTV as well as a more recent F64! A massive achievement, especially for an MC outside of London.
This year he also received Don’t Flops ‘Most improved’ award. His delivery, stage presence, intelligence and originality are older than his years. The talent doesn’t stop there either he’s also quite the beat maker, self-taught pianist and is known for the occasional beat box.
